Tank Town

Tank Town

Back when we got started in ‘94, plenty of folks were talking about water scarcity, quality, and conservation… but no one was doing much about it. Enter Richard– our part-time pilot, full-time rain enthusiast, hippy-dippy mad scientist. He looked around awhile for answers. And then he looked up. One thing led to another, and he installed a rainwater collection system in his home. Soon, Richard was helping his buddies install rainwater collection systems. When Richard decided to share his rainwater with everyone in Austin, he installed tank after tank to store his delicious drops.  So many that the area became known as Tank Town. Those early tanks are now part of Dreamland in Dripping Springs, where folks can visit them as the works of art that they’ve always been. Nowadays, Richard’s not just a good guy with a great idea. He’s got a following of rainmakers who believe in the power of rain and net-positive water sourcing. Because when y'all drink Richard’s Rainwater it’s a swig for change in our ecosystem– you’re not just like Richard, you’re a Richard.
